Andrea Mingoli is a consultant General/GI/Emergency/Trauma Surgeon at at Policlinico Umberto I, Dept. of Surgery P. Valdoni. He is the Chief of the Division of Trauma and Emergency Surgery at the Emergency Department and Full Professor of Surgery at Sapienza University of Rome.

He received his medical degree from the Sapienza University of Rome, completed his surgical residency in general and vascular surgery at Policlinico Umberto I – Sapienza University of Rome and later joined the Sapienza Faculty. He was Research Fellow in Vascular Surgery at Creighton University, Omaha, NE.

Professor Mingoli is specialized in Emergency and Trauma Surgery, is an ATLS Course Director, and ATOM Course Instructor. He is Vice-President of the Italian Society of Emergency Surgery and Trauma.

Professor Mingoli’s researches focused on vascular surgery (inferior vena cava leiomyosarcoma, popliteal artery entrapment, extraanatomical reconstructions), laparoscopic surgery (laparoscopic gastric and colonic resection, laparoscopic splenectomy after trauma), gastrointestinal malignancies and surgery in Covid 19 pandemia. Researches on trauma involved the prognostic role of several molecules (inflammatory cytochines, HMGB-1, NAPL3, potassium plasma level, S-100B protein) in major trauma.

He is Author of more of 330 peer-reviewed publications in referenced journals.
