Dr. Frank Tacke is currently Professor and Chairman of Department of Hepatology and Gastroenterology, Charité – Universitaetsmedizin Berlin, Berlin, Germany. Dr. Tacke was originally educated at the Hannover Medical School (MHH), Hannover, Germany, and Baylor College of Medicine, Houston, TX, USA. Later he stayed at University of Texas, M.D. Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, working on new gene therapy strategies (1998-1999) as well as for a post-doctoral research training (2004-2006) at the Mount Sinai Medical Center, New York, USA, working on monocyte/macrophage and dendritic cell biology.
Dr. Tacke’s research interests include clinical and experimental hepatology, liver immunology, viral hepatitis, critical care medicine, and monocyte/macrophage biology. He has published more than 390 peer-reviewed original and review articles.
