Dr.Yoon is an Associate Professor of Oncology at the Mayo Clinic and co-chair for research of the Mayo Clinic Gastroesophageal Cancer Disease Group. As a GI oncologist, he has a clinical/translational research focus of enhancing immunotherapy strategies and genomics-driven clinical care. He is recognized internationally as an expert in the treatment of gastroesophageal cancer. He leads multiple immunotherapy trials in this disease which seek to understand how immunotherapy can cooperate with other anticancer agents. He also serves on the Gastroesophageal Cancer Task Force of the National Cancer Institute, multiple steering committees of global registrational trials, the Esophageal/Gastric Working Group of the NCI Alliance cooperative group, and the guidelines panel of the National Comprehensive Cancer Network for Unknown Primary. He is a frequent speaker at internationally/nationally attended scientific and educational cancer conferences.
