Dr. Isomoto was a resident at the National Nagasaki Medical Center from 1990 to 1992, an Assistant Professor of the Department of Endoscopy at the Nagasaki University Hospital from 1999 to 2003, a fellow of the Department of Gastroenterology at Massachusetts General Hospital from 2003 to 2004 and a fellow of the Department of Gastroenterology at Mayo Clinic. Then Dr. Isomoto went back to Japan serving as an Associate Professor of the Department of Endoscopy at the Nagasaki University Hospital from 2009 to 2015 and then he works in the Division of Medicine and Clinical Science of the Department of Multidisciplinary Internal Medicine, at the Faculty of Medicine of Tottori University.
Dr. Isomoto is a fellow of the Japan Gastroenterological Endoscopy Society, the Japanese Society of Gastroenterology and the Japanese Society of Internal Medicine. He has published 281 original articles, 31 review articles and 11 books.
